Penelope turned one last week and that night we celebrated with a cupcake in the middle of the kitchen floor. But on Saturday we had the big sha-bang. Good friends gathered to help honor little miss and her first year of life. We enjoyed cake with cashew, date and maple syrup frosting and sweet potato chili. After some painting and opening presents, we decided to have 3 legged races and egg/spoon races. It was pretty awesome. Grown adults, having races against each other. Penelope enjoyed watching us make fools out of ourselves. It was wonderful.
